Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 30, 2026
Your family’s information belongs to your family. We collect only what Village needs to keep both homes on the same page, we hold it securely, and we never sell it. You decide who sees what, and you can export or delete your information at any time.
1. Who this covers
This policy applies to the Village app and the villagecoparenting.com website. “Village,” “we,” and “us” mean Village Co-Parenting, Inc. “You” means the person using Village.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name and email address, and your password, which is stored in encrypted form.
- Co-parenting details you add: your co-parent’s and children’s names and birthdays, custody and calendar events, tasks, notes, item locations, packing and needs lists, and the people you invite into your village.
- Messages you send us, such as support emails or feedback.
Information we collect automatically
- Basic device and usage data, such as app version, device type, and log data, to keep Village working and secure.
Information from services we use
- Your subscription status, from the Apple App Store or Google Play through our billing provider. We do not receive or store your full card number.
3. How we use your information
To run Village and give you its features, to sync information between the two homes and the people you invite, to send you necessary service messages such as a co-parent invitation or a receipt, to keep Village safe and prevent misuse, and, only if you opt in, to send you product updates. We do not use your children’s information to advertise to you or anyone else.
4. How we share your information
We share information only in these ways:
- With people you invite, according to the permissions you set. Your co-parent sees the shared space. The grandparents and caregivers you add as villagers see only the curated, read-only view you allow.
- With service providers who help us operate Village, for example cloud hosting and databases, our subscription billing provider, our email delivery provider, and a weather service that powers packing reminders. They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
- If the law requires it, or to protect people’s safety.
- If Village is ever involved in a merger or acquisition, information may transfer as part of that, and we will tell you first.
We never sell your personal information, and we never share your children’s information for advertising.
5. Your choices and rights
You can view and edit your information in the app at any time. You can export your information or delete your account and its data from within the app and by emailing us. If you are in the UK, the EU, California, or another region with privacy laws, you have rights to access, correct, delete, and port your information, and to object to certain uses. Email support@villagecoparenting.com and we will help. You can opt out of marketing email at any time using the unsubscribe link.
6. Children’s information
Village is made for parents and caregivers, who are adults. It is not directed to children and is not intended for children to use. Parents choose what information about their own children to keep in Village. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
7. How we protect your information
We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, but protecting your family’s information is a core part of how Village is built.
8. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your information within 60 days, except where we must keep limited records for legal or accounting reasons.
9. Where your information is handled
Village is operated from the United States, and your information is processed there. If you use Village from outside the US, you understand your information is handled in the US under this policy.
10. Cookies and the website
Our website uses a small number of cookies to work properly and, if you allow it, to understand general traffic. The banner on the site lets you accept or manage these.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app or by email.
