Terms of Service
Effective date: October 20, 2026
The short version
Use Village kindly and lawfully. One subscription covers your co-parenting connection, and only one parent pays. You own what you put in, we run the service that holds it, and neither of us can promise the impossible.
1. Agreement
These Terms are a contract between you and Village Co-Parenting, Inc. (“Village,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the Village app, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Village.
2. Who can use Village
You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. Village is for personal co-parenting coordination, not commercial use. You are responsible for activity under your account, for the accuracy of what you enter, and for keeping your login secure.
3. What Village is, and is not
Village helps co-parents and their families coordinate schedules, belongings, tasks and reminders. It is a coordination tool only. It is not a legal service, a court-documentation tool or a way to enforce custody, and it does not give legal, medical or professional advice. Custody arrangements and disputes are between you and the other people involved.
4. Your co-parent and your village
Village connects two co-parents in one shared family space, and lets you invite trusted people (villagers) with a limited view. Invitations use a private code. The people you connect with can see the shared information described in our Privacy Policy. You choose what villagers can see, you are responsible for who you invite, and we may limit access to protect users or the service.
5. Children’s information
You may add information about your own children only to coordinate their care, and you confirm you have the authority to do so. Please enter only what is useful for that.
6. Subscriptions, free trial and billing
One subscription covers your co-parenting connection. It covers both parents, only one parent is charged, and how you share the cost is up to you.
- Price: $16.99 a month or $169 a year, in US dollars. Prices in other currencies are set by the app store.
- Free trial: new subscribers get one 14-day free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it becomes a paid subscription and your app store account is charged.
- Renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Your account is charged within 24 hours before renewal.
- Managing and cancelling: billing is handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Manage or cancel anytime in your app store account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds: refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Village does not process cards or issue refunds directly.
- If a subscription lapses: the family space becomes read-only right away, and either parent can restart or take over the subscription to keep everything. At day 30 the space locks. After day 60 it is scheduled for deletion and permanently erased within about a week.
- Price changes: we may change prices with advance notice, and changes apply at your next renewal.
7. Acceptable use
Please do not use Village to break the law; harass, threaten or abuse anyone; upload illegal, infringing or harmful content; access information you are not allowed to see; interfere with or reverse engineer the service; or build a case against another person in a way that goes against what Village is for.
8. Your content
You keep ownership of what you create. You give Village a limited license to store, process, sync and display it only as needed to run the service for you and the people you share it with. You are responsible for your content and for having the right to share it.
9. Our property
The Village name, design, software and trademarks belong to Village Co-Parenting, Inc. These Terms give you the right to use the app as intended, and nothing more.
10. Other services
Village relies on services from other companies, including Google Firebase, Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Postmark and Apple WeatherKit. Their terms and privacy practices are their own.
11. Apple and Google
These Terms are between you and Village Co-Parenting, Inc. only, not Apple Inc. or Google LLC. Your use of the app must also follow the App Store or Google Play terms. If you downloaded Village from the Apple App Store, you also agree that:
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app, to the extent the law allows.
- Apple is not responsible for any claims about the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer protection claims.
- Apple is not responsible for investigating, defending, settling or discharging any claim that the app infringes someone’s intellectual property.
- You are not in a country under a US government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
12. Disclaimers
Village is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We work hard to keep Village reliable, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error free, or that every reminder or notification will arrive on time. Village does not replace a court order or legal advice.
13. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, Village is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid Village in the 12 months before the claim, or $100. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
14. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover Village’s losses and reasonable legal costs from claims caused by your misuse of Village, your content, or your breaking these Terms or someone else’s rights.
15. Ending your use
You can stop using Village and delete your account at any time, in the app or by emailing us. If you share a family space, deleting your account removes you but leaves the shared space with your co-parent. We may suspend or end access if these Terms are broken, or to protect the service or its users.
16. Disputes
If something goes wrong, please email support@villagecoparenting.com first. We will try to resolve it with you within 30 days. Either of us may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court. Otherwise, any dispute will be decided in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, and you and we agree to those courts. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
17. General
If any part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest stays in effect. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Village about the app. You may not transfer these Terms; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We may send notices in the app or by email. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If we make a meaningful change, we will post the new version, update the effective date and tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Village means you accept the update.
